Ignite: Harrington is the inaugural event of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island. Propelled by a transformative gift by URI alum Dick Harrington (’73), The Harrington School brings together programs in Communication Studies, Film Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Writing and Rhetoric, and Library and Information Studies with a simple goal: prepare graduates who are effective thinkers, creators and collaborators, well-prepared for citizenship, careers, and life in a rapidly changing global economy. On Thursday, September 27th, Ignite: Harrington will showcase an innovative collection of presentations and media from our impressive faculty, alumni, and students. But this isn’t just a ribbon-cutting: Our “Ignite Talks” format will challenge speakers and audiences while keeping things unpredictable, and our creative use of media will help set the table for what’s to come. Join us in the URI Memorial Union Ballroom on the evening of September 27th for Ignite: Harrington – It’s time to change a changing world.
